Wow how time has passed in Killarney, October we had great walks on the Mining trail on Ross Island, then we had the floods in November, Ice in December and Ice Skating on the Lakes in January. What is in store for 2010 in Killarney ?

Every Saturday from 4th of October 2008 Con Moriarty (the Legendary "Mountain Man") and his Guides offer you guided Exhilarating hiking and climbing amidst our wildest and loftiest nature- magical light, rich history and archaeology, place names, folklore and myth.

Walking in Killarney and Killarney Lake hotels

2010 looks like its going to be a good season for Visitors in Killarney, offering such good value and so much to do. This Year we are recommending our Visitors to take at least one extra day in Killarney and assess the ring of Kerry, Dingle, The gap of dunloe and all the other great attractions like the Killarney National Park.

Walking in Killarney

Nowhere in Ireland do you have such a huge choice of Walks as you do in Killarney. Especially from the Lake Hotel, situated on the Lake shore adjoining the Killarney National Park. Here are some great landmarks and their distance from the Lake Hotel :

Other Walks like the Gap of Dunloe and take in a 13 mile boat trip through the Killarney Valley, Upper Lake, Muckross and Lower Lake back to Ross Castle.

The Gap of Dunloe

You can cycle, walk of get a Pony and Trap before you take the Magical Boat Journey 13 miles (20km). If walking you will get a bus to Kate Kearney's from the Lake Hotel, then you can walk the 6 miles to Lord Brandon's Cottage. Here you will then take the most spectacular Boat Trip through the Killarney Valley the 3 Lakes of Killarney and the Long Range River. You will pass landmarks such as the Eagles Nest, Old Weir Bridge, Meeting of the Waters, Dinis Cottage, Brickeen Bridge, Glena and on to Ross Castle. The bus will be here to collect you and bring you back to the Lake Hotel. Generally collection from the Hotel are at 10.15 am daily and returning at 4 pm. Alternatively you can rent bikes and cycle to Kate Kearney's and through the Gap of Dunloe. Here you place your bike on the Boat and enjoy the trip.
